What can I say..
Like a friend says, 'Its complicated'. At first, I was really nervous cuz they had passed the 10 straight A's thing and my name was still not called. Then when they finally called my name, I thought I got 8A's or something.. But when I found out I got 10 A's overall and actually managed to get an A for Add Maths I was really happy. Then I saw that the reason i wasn't called out earlier was because I got a B+ for EST.. I was......... shocked. That was one subject I didn't expect to get a B for and I regret taking it, in a way. Not that the classes were not fun, but this one B ruined my straight A record. But my mum, unexpectedly, was very very happy anyways. She couldn't believe that I managed to score an A for Add Math and Physics, apparently, and the fact that i did made her quite proud. Daddy too.
So I guess I was kinda sad about not getting straight A's... But since Mummy and Daddy were soooo happy I was kinda happy too.And since technically, I managed to get quite good results for my Sciences and Maths and a few languages, I had no complaints. Went out for lunch with Grandma, aunt and cousins.
Then today, came to college. Now I feel so useless. So many of them managed to get straight A+ (Carmen Chuah, the girl who was reported in the Sun papers for 12 A+ is studying here) and the gang I usually hang out with in college all got Straight A+. I feel sooooooooooo........... Dumb. And quite a number of them got like, 9A+ and some As, blablabla. Most got straight A's. And the fact that I cannot tell them I got straight A's makes me feel depressed.
So there. Mixed feelings. I know I should be thankful but people are sooo smart here!!!

My first 18 movie
I went to the cinema last Sunday to watch Legion. As you probably know, Its 18PL (I think its PL, could be SG). So anyhow, I managed to get in. The guy didn't even bother to check me, although at that time I went in with my parents. Then finally when we got to the theatre hall, I told my mum, you know this movie is 18 right? And she was like " How in the world did you get in?????".. That's why I didn't tell you earlier, Mum... =) Its not that my mum isn't cool with it, its just that she worries more than I do, so she'll panic when they check our tickets (then I really wouldn't get in...).
All in all, i have to say Legion was quite a good movie.. Lots of suspense... i loved it.( I also loved it because of Kate Walsh).. But it was soooo weird.. You know, in Private practice, Kate plays an Ob/Gyn who really loves babies and she goes out of her way to make sure all the babies under her care are safe, but in Legion, she plays this very traumatised woman who just lost her husband( he was attacked by a grandma zombie) and so there this scene where she snatches the baby Messiah and goes " Its just a baby!!!! Give it to them (the zombie people) and they'll let us go!!" and it felt pretty weird to me... If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch Legion.
Anyhow, my mum was the one screaming throughout the movie. There was once when the bad guy was about to reach the good guy and the whole cinema was quite because of the suspense, and suddenly, my mother screamed so loudly I had to cover her mouth... People actually turned and stared at her.. I think my mum should be banned from violent thrillers, not me...

CNY edition blog : part 2
Cornflake cookies!!
Cornflake cookies are harder to make, cuz they involve egg beaters.. uggh. I dislike egg beaters cuz my mixing bowl is small and everything flies everywhere. Which means i have to clean up later.
Besides, the ingredients for cornflake cookies have to be bought separately, unlike groundnut cookies, where the ingredients come in packs. So for cornflakes, we had to measure everything and etc.
Did i mention that halfway through, the machine broke down? Finally, only one side could work. Terrible.. But then again, the cookies turned out okay.. They were buttery enough, but one major drawback was that they they were over hard and salty. We were supposed to sell some off to this hawker lady outside, but she rejected them cause they were salty.. =( No extra pocket money this year..

CNY Edition blog : Part 1
Groundnut cookies.
All in all, can be categorised as a success. Groundnut cookies are easy to make. Just buy all the ready ingredients from the market, mix evenly and divide into little balls. Use cooking brush to gloss egg yolk over the top, then put in oven at 180 for 20 mins per tray. Can't go wrong.
However, my Grandmother and I had extremely conflicting ideas on how to apply egg yolk to the cookies. She thought (and still thinks) it was better to apply egg yolk all around the cookies. I thought it was better to just apply a little bit of yolk on top. She won that fight.
But just so I could get the last word in, I made three groundnut cookies a little 'differently'- one triangle shaped one, one square one and one that looked like the leaning tower of Pisa. Then when she was looking away, I put said three cookies on the tray and shoved tray into the oven. Needless to say, my Grandma was not happy.
Woohoo!
